- Each golfer drives off every hole. Every player has to have 3 drives marked on the card
- Each player then plays from the best ball until they hole out.
- Placing everywhere
- 1/10th of your combined handicap will be subtracted from your final score for a fourball, 1/6th for a three ball.
Last presentation of the year will be in Hennessy's @ 9.00 on Sunday . Golfer of the year prize presentation will be held on Sunday. Huge congratulations to Ciaran Lambe for clinching this year's title.

Congratulations to Declan Cummins for winning the men's overall prize and to Bernie Hennessy for winning the women's prize. Well done to all the winners of the day.

Captain's Day Timesheet and Dinner
Hi All,
Please find the attached draw for Sam Ellis's Captain's Prize on Saturday at Tulfarris Golf Club. Men will play from the green tee box, while ladies will play from the red tee box. This year, we have two nearest the pin competitions on the 2nd and 6th greens. The longest drive will be on the 15th hole for men and the 18th hole for ladies.

The hotel restaurant will be open until 10:30 am for anyone who would like to have breakfast. The bar menu will be available starting at 12:30 pm. We have a large number of participants, so we would appreciate it if you could arrive well ahead of your tee time.
The Captain's Dinner will be held at the Craddockstown Golf Club Restaurant on Friday, the 15th of August, at 7:30 pm. Following dinner, there will be the presentation of the President's (results attached from Mt Wolseley) and Captain's prizes. The cost for the day is €55 for golf and prizes, and €40 per person for the 3 course dinner.

Our matchplay competition draw was done last night. Attached are both draws and the rules for the competitions. Please note the dates that matches have to be played by. To help with the running of the competitions a whatsapp group will be set up. Players will be withdrawn from the group when they are eliminated from the competitions.

Unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions and a very snowy wet course in Newbridge, captain Denis's drive-in has to be postponed.
It will be rescheduled for a later date, possibly in April. We will know for certain what date next week.

President Pat would like to thank everyone for an enjoyable day that was held in Carlow golf club. The weather wasn't the best on the day but it didn't dampen the spirits down there.

2023 WEEKEND AWAY FOTA ISLAND:
Like previous years for the weekend away, a subcommittee has been set up with the intentions of having a smoothly run few days down in Fota Island Resort. I would like to thank everyone that is going for getting their deposits in so far.
Unfortunately, for us to avail of a major discount from the resort all payments for the weekend away will have to be paid by the end of February. To help us to facilitate your payments, subcommittee members will be in Hennessey’s lounge on the evening of Friday the 17th of February from 8pm to 9pm and can accept your payments then. Many thanks to members who have already paid in full.

Hi all,
Captains Drive in was held in Coollattin Golf Club on Saturday the 5 th March. A good day was had by all with some nice sunny weather.
The captain would like to thank everyone for the coming on the day.

Heineken Cup October 2021 Results (Athy Golf Club)
The Heineken Cup was held in Athy Golf club on Saturday 9th October 2021. There was a few drizzly showers to start off with but the sun eventually came out for a lovely afternoon.
It was a tight affair at the top of the leaderboard but congratulations goes out to winner on the day Seamus Breen who goes home with the Heineken Cup for 2021.

Hennessy's 100 year Anniversary
Hi all,
In May 2021 the Hennessey family ran a golf outing celebrating 100 years trading in Blessington while supporting Cystic Fibrosis in the process. The Hennessey family along with Blessington Golf Society would like to thank everyone for taking part in this wonderful day and for contributing to Cystic Fibrosis.

Noel served on our committee both as our Secretary and as our 2014 Captain.

- When playing golf, do not remove the pin from the hole, refrain from handling other golfers’ clubs, golf balls and scorecards.
- Practice social distancing on course.
- Bunker rakes will also be removed from all bunkers. Please simply smooth over and marks with your foot
- Wash your hands properly and often with warm water and soap.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve when you cough and sneeze.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- When practising use a gloved hand to carry a basket and do not share equipment.
- Put used tissues into a bin and wash your hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are not well.
- Follow the travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
- Stay at home if you are sick to help stop the spread of whatever infection you may have.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Do not share objects that touch your mouth – for example, bottles, cups.
